ATA will recognise only ticketing courses conducted by GDS providers such as Amadeus and Galileo, discontinuing its own certifications, said Anurag Agarwal, Hon. Secretary, TAAI Northern Region. Agencies must ensure two certified staff and obtain fresh credentials for changes in ownership or office address.
Announced at a TAAI meeting in New Delhi, the move invalidates earlier IATA course and experience certificates. Travel agencies are now required to approach their respective GDS providers for certification, increasing compliance requirements and potentially adding to training costs across the sector.
