India–NZ FTA introduces 5,000 work visas and extended stay rights


The India–New Zealand Free Trade Agreement introduces a 5,000 Temporary Employment Entry visa quota, enabling Indian professionals to work for up to three years. Todd McClay, New Zealand’s Minister for Trade and Investment, said the move will strengthen people-to-people ties and workforce mobility. The pact also offers post-study work rights of up to 3–4 years, boosting long-stay travel, tourism flows and stronger bilateral engagement.
