European river cruising is gradually gaining traction among Indian outbound travellers seeking slower, immersive, and experience-led holidays beyond traditional ocean cruise itineraries. CroisiEurope’s latest India partnership reflects growing interest in niche premium cruising segments.
CroisiEurope River Cruises has appointed AVM Travel Designers as its exclusive Preferred Sales Agent (PSA) in India, while also partnering with FootprintsWorldwide as its marketing partner to strengthen brand visibility and trade outreach in the market.
The collaboration combines AVM Travel Designers’ operational and sales expertise with FootprintsWorldwide’s marketing and strategic brand-building capabilities to position European river cruising more strongly among Indian travellers.
Founded in 1976, CroisiEurope is one of Europe’s leading family-owned river cruise companies, operating more than 50 vessels across major waterways including the Rhine, Danube, Seine, Rhône, and Douro, alongside selected itineraries on the Mekong and in Southern Africa.
Focus on growing river cruise awareness in India
The partnership comes at a time when experiential cruising is emerging as a growing segment within India’s outbound leisure market, particularly among premium travellers seeking culturally immersive and destination-focused journeys.
Naidah Yazdani, Asia Pacific Director, CroisiEurope, said, “We look forward to working closely with AVM Travel Designers to strengthen our presence in India. River cruising is set for exponential growth across Asia, and we’re delighted to be among the first to benefit.”
The India representation strategy will focus on introducing Indian travellers to river cruising experiences positioned around smaller ships, destination immersion, and curated itineraries across Europe.
Industry collaboration to drive market visibility
AVM Travel Designers’ leadership, comprising Atul Mahajan, Vijay Handa, and Mukesh Sharma jointly stated that CroisiEurope represents a refined river cruising product offering intimate ships, immersive destinations, and strong value for travellers.
They added that the partnership with FootprintsWorldwide is expected to support long-term brand development for CroisiEurope in India.
Mamta Pall, Founder and CEO, FootprintsWorldwide, said, “We are proud to partner with AVM Travel Designers to bring CroisiEurope to India. River cruising offers a sophisticated, immersive alternative to ocean voyages, and we see strong potential among discerning travellers.”
River cruising emerging as niche outbound segment
While ocean cruising continues to dominate the Indian cruise market, river cruising is increasingly attracting travellers looking for smaller-scale experiences centred around culture, gastronomy, and scenic inland routes.
The partnership highlights how international cruise brands are now beginning to view India as a developing source market for premium and experiential cruise tourism, particularly within Europe-focused outbound travel.
