Adani Airports, IHG ink deal for 5 hotels; mark debut of Kimpton in India

Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) and IHG Hotels & Resorts have signed a five-hotel portfolio agreement that will bring nearly 1,500 rooms across key airport and commercial hubs in India, marking a major hospitality expansion linked to the country’s growing aviation ecosystem.

The partnership also marks the India debut of Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, IHG’s luxury lifestyle boutique brand known globally for design-led hospitality and curated dining experiences.

The upcoming portfolio will include hotels across Jaipur, Navi Mumbai, Mangaluru and Thiruvananthapuram under brands including Kimpton, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express. The developments will be integrated into Adani’s airport-led mixed-use urban projects, reinforcing the growing role of airports as hospitality, retail and commercial hubs.

Pranav Adani, Director, Adani Enterprises Limited, said the collaboration aligns with the group’s broader vision of building integrated travel and urban ecosystems around India’s rapidly expanding aviation infrastructure. He added that partnerships with global hospitality brands would help strengthen premium hospitality infrastructure across gateway cities.

The Kimpton Jaipur hotel will serve as the brand’s India entry, reflecting rising demand for boutique luxury and experiential hospitality among modern travellers. Industry observers view the move as part of a larger shift toward lifestyle-driven hotel developments in high-growth urban and airport corridors.

Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said the agreement significantly strengthens IHG’s presence across strategic gateway destinations while catering to business, leisure and transit travellers.

AAHL currently operates India’s largest private airport network and is developing large-scale airport city projects spanning nearly 663 acres. Meanwhile, IHG operates 52 hotels across six brands in India and has a pipeline of 98 additional hotels planned over the next three to five years.
