UPI transactions hit a record `29.9 lakh crore in May as IPL, summer travel and consumer spending drove digital payment growth, according to data released by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
It said the value of transactions was at `29.03 lakh crore in April, registered a 19 per cent growth compared to the data of April 2025. In volume terms, it has set a new record with 23.2 billion transactions during the month, up 24 per cent from 18.67 billion in the corresponding period.
