LOT Polish Airlines carried a record 11.7 million passengers in 2025, reporting one of its strongest financial performances in the past decade. The airline also advanced its network expansion and fleet modernisation strategy, laying the foundation for the next phase of growth under its 2024–2028 plan.
The Polish flag carrier reported revenue of PLN10.22 bn, operating profit (EBIT) of PLN422 mn, and net profit of PLN350 mn for 2025. Revenue increased by 2.9 per cent over 2024, while the operating margin exceeded four per cent. The airline said the results were achieved alongside network expansion and preparations for its largest fleet investment programme.
Michał Fijoł, Chief Executive Officer, LOT Polish Airlines, said, “The results for 2025 show that we are capable of combining dynamic growth with financial responsibility. We carried a record number of passengers, expanded our flight network, and launched the largest fleet modernization program in LOT Polish Airlines history, while generating a net profit of PLN350 mn. This is a very good result, which provides us with a solid foundation for implementing the next stages of our strategy for years 2024–2028. Our goal is for LOT Polish Airlines to be an airline ready to serve as the region’s leading carrier.”
Fleet and network expansion
One of the airline’s key developments during the year was signing an agreement with Airbus for 40 A220 aircraft, with options and purchase rights for an additional 44 aircraft. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2027 as part of the airline’s regional fleet modernisation programme.
LOT also received the first of 13 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft in December 2025, with additional deliveries continuing during the first half of 2026.
The carrier launched nine new routes during 2025, connecting Warsaw with Lisbon, Thessaloniki, Reykjavik, Marrakech, Stavanger, Rovaniemi, and Malta, alongside Krakow–Paris Orly and Radom–Barcelona services.
It also announced 15 additional routes for 2026, including services from Krakow to Rome, Barcelona, and Madrid, while expanding operations from Gdansk with flights to Istanbul, Brussels, Oslo, and Bergen.
Product enhancements and industry recognition
During 2025, LOT received a four-star rating from Skytrax and was named Best Airline in Eastern Europe at the 2025 World Airline Awards.
The airline also upgraded its business lounges in Warsaw, enhanced its onboard services, and introduced a new cabin design as part of its passenger experience programme.
LOT further strengthened its sustainability and cargo operations by obtaining the IATA Environmental Assessment certification and becoming one of the few airlines to hold all four IATA CEIV certifications, including CEIV Live Animals.
Looking ahead, the airline expects to induct 12 additional Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft and two Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners during 2026, before beginning Airbus A220 deliveries in 2027.
Commenting on the airline’s outlook, Fijoł said, “It was a very good year. Both in terms of stable financial results and in terms of the expansion of its flight network and the quality-of-service LOT Polish Airlines offers its passengers. We are pleased that they are responding positively to the changes being implemented and are confirmed by industry evaluations. Although the competitive environment and fuel prices have a significant impact on the profitability of the entire industry, we are continuing our development activities. In 2026, we will take delivery of twelve new Boeing 737 MAX 8s and two Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners, and starting in 2027, Airbus A220s will begin joining our fleet. These investments will expand our ability to launch new connections and allow us to consistently build LOT Polish Airlines position as a modern carrier that, by the end of the decade, will have one of the youngest fleets in Europe.”
