Voyage 1 DMC LLC Dubai, led by travel industry veteran Naveen Kundu, has announced the acquisition of a 100% stake in World Wide African Tours, operating under the brand safarisinbushes.com. The South Africa-based Destination Management Company joins Voyage 1’s expanding global network, marking another step in the group’s strategy to strengthen its presence in high-growth international markets through wholly owned operations.
The move deepens Voyage 1’s footprint in Africa’s fast-growing tourism sector and broadens its portfolio of experiential and luxury travel offerings. The newly formed entity, to be named Voyage 1 Africa, will be fully integrated into Voyage 1’s existing destination network, reinforcing the company’s ownership-led operating model across key international markets.
Shobhna Govan, who brings more than two decades of experience managing South African and wider African safaris, will continue to lead the new entity. Her established relationships with local hospitality partners and deep operational knowledge are expected to ensure continuity for existing clients while supporting elevated service standards for global B2B partners.
The acquisition unlocks access to curated safari itineraries, luxury wildlife experiences, and end-to-end ground-handling services across Southern Africa. It combines Voyage 1’s technology-driven approach to destination management with World Wide African Tours’ strong on-ground execution capabilities, creating what the company describes as a natural synergy between strategic vision and local expertise.
Commenting on the acquisition, Naveen Kundu highlighted Africa’s potential in the luxury and experiential travel segments, noting that the deal positions the group to deliver authentic, reliable safari experiences at scale.
