Madhya Pradesh has approved 29 of 30 proposals for infrastructure development and wildlife conservation across its national parks and tiger reserves, potentially opening up new opportunities for tourism access in forest destinations. The approved proposals include CC roads in forest villages, pucca roads within tiger reserves, mobile towers, sub-health centres and electricity infrastructure. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has also directed the Forest Department to work with the Tourism Department on a plan to expand forest tourism. The state will promote homestays among local and tribal communities to generate employment and additional income. The move comes as Madhya Pradesh looks to strengthen tourism infrastructure around its wildlife destinations.
