ITPO Chairman Jawed Ashraf said the organisation will lead the creation of a city-centric or NCR-centric convention promotion bureau to strengthen Delhi-NCR’s MICE ecosystem. “ITPO is prepared to anchor and to lead the process of creating this city-centric or NCR-centric convention promotion bureau, bringing airlines, hotels, transporters, the entire industry together, together with the city government and, of course, the national government in promoting.” The bureau will bring airlines, hotels, transporters, industry, city government and the national government together to promote the region as a MICE destination. Ashraf said ITPO is also working with the Ministry of Tourism to support eight overseas trade fairs and plans to mount MICE roadshows globally. He highlighted ITPO’s infrastructure expansion, including Phase II development, hotels and food outlets, while stating that the organisation will also develop its 50-acre Bengaluru property as another major destination.
