Cygnet Hotels & Resorts has signed a 50-room brownfield hotel in Gopalpur, Odisha, scheduled to open in March 2027. The move expands its Cozzet brand into an emerging coastal leisure market, reflecting growing opportunities for branded accommodation beyond major cities and strengthening its presence in regional destinations.
Cozzet VICASA Gopalpur will be located approximately 800 metres from Gopalpur Sea Beach, with several rooms offering sea views. The hotel will target leisure travellers, families, weekend guests, weddings, and small corporate groups.
The signing forms part of Cygnet’s strategy to expand through brownfield conversions and asset-light management opportunities across Tier II, Tier III, and emerging micro-markets, supported by rising domestic travel and demand for professionally branded accommodation.
According to HVS ANAROCK’s India Hospitality Industry Overview 2025, Tier III and IV markets accounted for 44% of hotel keys signed and 55% of properties signed during 2025.
Located on Odisha’s southern coastline, Gopalpur combines beach tourism, weekend travel, and access to the region’s natural and cultural attractions.

The upcoming hotel will feature 50 guest rooms, including sea-view rooms, approximately 2,500 sq. ft. of banquet and event space for around 180–200 guests, and a rooftop restaurant offering regional delicacies and global cuisine in a coastal setting.
