Qatar welcomes 1st leisure charter flight from Armenia

Qatar has welcomed its first leisure charter flight from Yerevan, Armenia, marking a milestone in the growth of inbound tourism and diversification of its international source markets.

Operated by FlyOne in partnership with Rustar Tour Operator, the weekly Airbus A320 service connects Yerevan and Doha and will operate until May 15, 2027. The charter programme is expected to bring around 6,500 Armenian visitors to Qatar.

The inaugural arrival was celebrated at Hamad International Airport with a special welcome reception hosted by Visit Qatar and airport staff. Passengers were greeted with traditional Arabic coffee and dates, alongside Qatari and Armenian flags and Visit Qatar gift bags.

The new service also signals renewed confidence in Qatar’s tourism and aviation sectors following recent regional operational disruptions. The country continues to position itself as a safe, welcoming and world-class leisure destination with a strong tourism, hospitality and aviation ecosystem.

The charter is expected to strengthen tourism ties between Qatar and Armenia while creating opportunities for future charter operations and potential scheduled connectivity between the two markets.
