Avis India, a joint venture between The Oberoi Group and Avis Budget Group, has introduced a new airport transfer service starting at INR 1,150, offering chauffeur-driven transportation for shorter airport journeys.
The new service provides a two-hour, 20-kilometre package for a single airport pickup or drop. It is currently available across Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Pune and Chennai, giving travellers an alternative to longer-duration chauffeur bookings.
Avis India said the offering has been designed around the changing requirements of air travellers, particularly those seeking point-to-point transportation for short, time-sensitive airport journeys. Traditionally, chauffeur-driven services in India have focused on full-day or extended bookings, especially for corporate travellers.
Aman Naagar, Managing Director, Avis India, said the new format allows customers to book a service based specifically on the requirements of an airport journey. The company said the starting fare of INR 1,150 is intended to make chauffeur-driven airport transfers more accessible.
Avis India said its chauffeurs are hand-picked and third-party verified, with defensive-driving and soft-skills training conducted before assignments. Vehicles are equipped with GPS-enabled real-time trip tracking, comprehensive insurance and valid permits, while a 24×7 contact centre provides support.
For women travellers, the service includes in-car assistance and access to the Avis Secure Desk. The airport transfer offering builds on Avis India’s more than 25 years of operations in the Indian market and expands its chauffeur-driven mobility services for shorter journeys.
