Tourist arrivals from China to India increased 120% over the last four months compared with the same period last year, Bhuvnesh Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, said at the PATA India Chapter 56th AGM. He said arrivals rose from 15,000 to 23,000 during the period, while arrivals in the last two months increased from an average of 4,000 to 9,000. “So a 120% increase or growth to 20% actually is very encouraging and I’m sure a lot of people would not have known by now and they will start knowing. We do have better agencies and people would start knowing and I’m sure the numbers will go up,” Kumar said.
