The Enterprising Travel Agents Association (ETAA) and Foundation to Summit have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote accessible and barrier-free tourism. Announced in Kolkata on September 28, 2026, the partnership aims to make travel more inclusive by encouraging tourism practices that enable persons with disabilities to participate with dignity, independence and equal opportunity.
The collaboration will focus on raising awareness across the tourism industry and promoting inclusive approaches to travel and destination development. Through joint initiatives, both organisations aim to encourage industry stakeholders to address accessibility barriers and create travel experiences that cater to people with diverse needs.
The MoU signing ceremony was held at Hotel Park Prime, Kolkata, which supported the initiative as the venue partner. ETAA acknowledged the hotel management for its contribution to the event and its support for advancing accessibility and inclusion within the tourism sector.
As part of the partnership, ETAA East, in association with Foundation to Summit, organised a British Heritage Walk on September 27, 2026, to mark World Tourism Day. The event brought together ETAA members and participants from the persons with disabilities (PWD) community, offering an opportunity to explore Kolkata’s heritage collectively.
Supported by the Ministry of Tourism’s Eastern Regional Office in Kolkata, the walk highlighted the importance of accessibility, inclusion and equal participation in tourism. The initiative encouraged tourism professionals to consider how heritage experiences and destinations can become more welcoming and accessible to all visitors.
The MoU and the heritage walk mark further progress towards ETAA’s vision of “Tourism for All”. By promoting barrier-free travel and shared participation, the organisations aim to support a tourism ecosystem in which every traveller can explore destinations with greater independence and confidence.
