VFS Global has inaugurated its first Visa Application Centre in Guwahati, Assam, serving applicants from all eight northeastern states and offering visa application services for 14 countries. Located at the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT), Khanapara, the centre covers Austria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Estonia, France, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Malta (D-visa applications), Morocco, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. The facility was inaugurated by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Tourism Minister Ajanta Neog, Transport Minister Charan Boro and VFS Global South Asia COO Yummi Talwar. VFS Global currently provides visa services for 53 sovereign governments through 561 centres in 20 cities, according to the company’s statement.
