StarCruises and Dream Cruises have officially relaunched with a grand ceremony aboard the Star Voyager in Singapore. This event marks the beginning of a new era for the brands, revitalising their 30-year legacy with a modern and innovative vision for future cruises. The relaunch coincides with the Star Voyager’s maiden voyage under the StarCruises banner following a US$ 50 million refurbishment. With Singapore as a key homeport, the ship will also visit major Southeast Asian destinations, including Jakarta, Melaka, Bangkok, and Ho Chi Minh City.
The official relaunch event was attended by key industry figures, including Jean Ng, Assistant Chief Executive of the Singapore Tourism Board, and Jacqueline Tan, CEO of the Singapore Cruise Centre. Also present were Colin Au, CEO and Executive Director of StarCruises and Dream Cruises, and Michael Goh, President of both brands. Goh highlighted the excitement surrounding the relaunch, stating, “We are thrilled to return to our roots, offering an enhanced cruising experience with the Star Voyager exploring Southeast Asia.” The event reaffirmed the commitment to strengthen Singapore’s position as a leading cruise hub.
StarCruises and Dream Cruises aim to cater to distinct market segments. StarCruises focuses on affordable, lifestyle-driven cruising with mid-sized ships like Star Voyager and Star Navigator, offering intimate experiences for around 2,000 guests. In contrast, Dream Cruises delivers luxury cruising with premium amenities, accommodating over 3,000 guests on ships such as the flagship Genting Dream, which is homeported in Singapore year-round. This dual approach positions the brands as leaders in the Asian and global cruise industries.
The Star Voyager will remain homeported at the Singapore Cruise Centre until July 21, 2025, offering diverse itineraries across Southeast Asia. These include 5-night cruises to Melaka, Jakarta, Bangkok, and Ho Chi Minh City, 4-night cruises to Ko Samui and Pulau Redang, and shorter 2- to 3-night trips to Kuala Lumpur and Medan. Passengers from Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam can also embark from their national homeports, enhancing regional connectivity and offering flexible travel options.
With its renewed vision and diverse offerings, StarCruises and Dream Cruises are set to redefine the cruising experience in Asia. The relaunch not only strengthens their legacy but also supports Singapore’s growing cruise industry, promising unforgettable voyages and new adventures across Southeast Asia.
