Goa Hotels to upload guest data from April 1 on TIME software

Starting April 1, the Goa Tourism Department will mandate all hotels and guest houses to upload guest demographic data using the Tourist Information Management Enterprise (TIME) software. This initiative aims to provide real-time insights into tourist demographics and travel patterns, helping authorities implement strategic measures to enhance the state’s hospitality sector.

Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte emphasised that hotels must submit key guest details, including age group, country of origin for international visitors, state of residence for domestic travelers, duration of stay, and purpose of visit. This data will help analyse visitor trends and improve tourism planning.

To address privacy concerns, Tourism Director Kedar Naik clarified that only broad demographic details would be collected. Personal information or identity documents, such as passports or Aadhaar cards, will not be required, ensuring data security while maintaining valuable analytics.

With Goa being a major tourist destination, this move is expected to streamline operations and offer data-driven insights into visitor behavior. The government believes this initiative will support better infrastructure planning, improve tourist experiences, and promote sustainable tourism growth.
