VFS Global expands skill training network

VFS Global Foundation has inaugurated its new skill training centre in Ahmedabad, reaffirming its mission to empower India’s youth through employability-oriented education. This initiative represents a major step toward creating sustainable livelihood opportunities by equipping young people with skills that match modern industry demands. In its first year, the centre aims to train 250 students, providing them with hands-on knowledge that prepares them for successful careers in the travel and hospitality sectors.

The programmes at the Ahmedabad centre have been designed by the VFS Global Academy, the initiative’s knowledge partner. The Academy ensures that the curriculum aligns with global standards and focuses on practical, future-ready skills, mentorship, and professional growth. Through this collaboration, students receive a blend of theoretical and applied learning, enabling them to compete confidently in the international job market.

During the inauguration, Neetu Wadhawan, Deputy CHRO of VFS Global and Director of the Foundation, emphasised the organisation’s vision to build sustainable livelihoods through education. She noted that the Ahmedabad centre reflects VFS Global’s long-term goal to empower communities through structured skill training. With existing centres already operational in Deoghar, Ekta Nagar, and Lucknow, and another planned for Chandigarh, the Foundation continues to expand its footprint across India.

The launch event saw enthusiastic participation from VFS Global’s senior leadership and the centre’s first batch of students. Guests toured the new facilities, interacted with trainees, and discussed how such initiatives are vital for local economic development. The event also showcased the Foundation’s commitment to inclusive growth by engaging local communities and addressing regional skill gaps.

This initiative forms a key part of VFS Global’s larger social impact strategy, which focuses on empowering youth through education, skill enhancement, and entrepreneurship. By fostering employability and self-reliance, the Foundation is helping bridge the gap between academic learning and industry needs, preparing a new generation of skilled professionals.

With the launch of the Ahmedabad centre, VFS Global Foundation continues its journey of transforming lives—combining education, opportunity, and innovation to build stronger communities and contribute to India’s vision of a skilled, future-ready workforce.
