The iconic Vanrani toy train at Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Borivali, Mumbai is finally returning after a gap of four years. This much-loved attraction has been missed by visitors, especially families and children who enjoyed the peaceful ride through the greenery of the park.
A second vintage toy train, designed as an open-top model, has also arrived at the park. This new train allows tourists to enjoy nature more closely, feel the fresh air, and experience the forest surroundings in a more immersive way. Its trial runs have already been completed successfully.
The original toy train service was halted in 2021 after Cyclone Tauktae caused significant damage to its tracks and infrastructure. The closure disappointed many regular visitors who considered the ride a memorable part of their park experience.
The revival of the service has been made possible through continuous efforts and follow-ups by Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal. As the representative of Mumbai North, he played a key role in ensuring the restoration of this popular attraction.
The park authorities are now preparing to restart operations smoothly. Maintenance checks, safety inspections, and route preparations are almost complete, ensuring that the ride will be safe and enjoyable for all visitors.
With the Vanrani toy train set to return, excitement is building among Mumbai residents. The comeback of both trains promises a refreshed, nostalgic, and nature-filled experience for tourists of all ages.
