ATOAI to host 17th annual Convention in Srinagar from Dec 17–20, 2025

The Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) has announced that its 17th Annual Adventure Convention will be held in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, from December 17–20, 2025. Organised in close collaboration with the Government of Jammu & Kashmir, the flagship industry event will bring together adventure tourism stakeholders from across India to deliberate on the theme, “Indian Adventure Tourism: Safe, Sustainable & Resilient.”

The convention aims to accelerate the revival of India’s adventure tourism sector, strengthen safety and sustainability frameworks, and enhance India’s positioning as a responsible global adventure destination. ATOAI said hosting the event in Kashmir underscores the region’s readiness to welcome travellers, aided by improved infrastructure, enhanced safety standards, and community-led tourism initiatives.

Across three days, the programme will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, and workshops focused on safety, sustainability, innovation, and skills development. The agenda also includes an awards ceremony recognising excellence in the adventure sector and an immersive field visit to Pahalgam, designed to showcase eco-sensitive tourism practices and local community engagement.

Ajeet Bajaj, President, ATOAI, said the decision to host the convention in Jammu & Kashmir is both “symbolic and significant,” adding that it reinforces the association’s belief that adventure tourism in India can be “safe, sustainable, and globally competitive.” He highlighted India’s long-term goal of becoming a leading adventure destination that protects nature, empowers communities, and ensures traveller confidence.

Aligned with ATOAI’s sustainability mandate, the convention will be organised as a net-zero event, with measures to minimise its environmental impact across all operational aspects.

The organising committee for the 17th Annual Convention includes:

  • Paras Loomba, Executive Committee Member & Chapter Chair – Northern Region, as Convention Chairman
  • Rauf Tramboo, President, Adventure Tour Operators Association of Kashmir (ATOAK), as Convention Co-Chair
  • Yog Chinmoy Dutt, Executive Committee Member & Co-Chair – Western & Central Region Chapter, as Convention Co-Chair
  • Arvind Bhardwaj, Executive Committee Member & Co-Chair – Northern Region, as Convention Co-Chair

Their leadership reflects the collaborative spirit of the adventure tourism community and the shared commitment to promoting Jammu & Kashmir as a key hub for responsible adventure travel.
