Goa achieved another milestone in its international tourism outreach with the arrival of charter flight ENT 1443 from Katowice, Poland, at Manohar International Airport (MOPA) on Friday, January 9, 2026. The flight landed at 09:30 hrs carrying 189 passengers, marking the first charter arrival from Katowice for the current tourist season and the second charter flight from Poland this year.
The passengers were greeted with a warm and traditional Goan welcome, underlining the State’s focus on hospitality and memorable visitor experiences. Such ceremonial receptions are part of Goa’s broader strategy to strengthen its image as a welcoming and culturally rich destination for international travellers.
Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte described the arrival as a positive development for Goa’s tourism sector. He highlighted Poland as an important source market and noted that charter flights play a key role in diversifying tourism inflows while supporting quality and sustainable tourism. He reiterated the government’s commitment to improving connectivity and positioning Goa as a year-round global destination.
Director of Tourism Kedar Naik emphasised the importance of charter operations in sustaining international tourist arrivals and supporting local tourism stakeholders. He noted that growing interest from Polish travellers reflects Goa’s appeal beyond beaches, including culture, wellness, hinterland experiences, and nature-based tourism.
The arrival also reinforces Goa’s growing popularity among European tourists. Increased air connectivity with Poland signals renewed confidence among international tour operators and travellers, and showcases Goa’s diverse offerings such as cuisine, heritage, natural landscapes, and holistic tourism experiences.
The Department of Tourism continues to collaborate with international airlines, tour operators, and industry stakeholders to expand charter connectivity. The Katowice charter strengthens Goa’s footprint in the European market and sets an encouraging tone for the ongoing tourist season.
