Air India has resumed non-stop flights between India and Tel Aviv from New Year’s Day, January 1, marking the return of direct air connectivity between the two countries. The move is expected to provide a fresh boost to tourism, business travel, and economic exchanges between India and Israel, which had been impacted by earlier flight suspensions.
The Tata Group-owned airline had suspended all operations on this route in June 2025 due to escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. The decision followed Iranian missile strikes on a US base in Qatar, which led Air India to halt flights not only to the region but also routes connecting to Europe and the East Coast of North America, citing safety concerns.
At the time of suspension, Air India stated that all operations were being ceased with immediate effect until further notice, reflecting the uncertainty surrounding regional security conditions. The prolonged suspension affected passengers, tourism flows, and trade links between India and Israel.
According to Israel’s tourism ministry, the restored route will operate with a frequency of five flights per week, from Sunday to Thursday. Air India is deploying its Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft on this sector, offering modern amenities and improved passenger comfort on the long-haul service.
As per the announced schedule, flights from Delhi will depart at 7:00 AM and arrive in Tel Aviv at 9:55 AM. The return flights from Tel Aviv will depart at 11:40 AM and land in Delhi at 8:50 PM, enabling convenient onward connections to other Indian cities and international destinations.
Welcoming the development, the Indian Embassy in Israel highlighted the importance of renewed direct connectivity. In a post on X, the Embassy expressed support for the resumed service and encouraged travellers from both countries to take advantage of the non-stop air link, calling it a positive step in strengthening bilateral ties.
