Centrum Air has officially commenced direct passenger flights between Delhi (DEL) and Tashkent (TAS), marking a new chapter in air connectivity between India and Uzbekistan. Operating twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays, the service offers affordable fares, convenient timings, and modern fleet comfort, making it attractive for both leisure and business travellers. This launch strengthens opportunities for tourism, trade, and cultural exchange between the two countries.
The inaugural flight ceremony took place at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport in collaboration with GMR, customs authorities, and senior airport officials. Festivities included a traditional diya-lighting ritual, colourful rangoli, decorated check-in counters, and commemorative gifts for passengers. A cake-cutting ceremony was held at both departure and arrival terminals. Passengers enthusiastically posed with props and banners, while crew members received floral bouquets and arriving travellers were welcomed with special goodies, setting a festive tone.
This service launch follows a pre-launch celebration on 26th September 2025 at The Grand, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. The event was graced by His Excellency Mr. Sardor Rustambaev, Ambassador of Uzbekistan, alongside senior dignitaries, trade partners, and media. The program included insightful presentations on Centrum Air’s vision, networking sessions, and a lucky draw, highlighting the airline’s dedication to fostering stronger links with the Indian market.
Adil Mirza of Centrum Air expressed pride in the Delhi–Tashkent launch, emphasising that this is more than a new route — it is a bridge connecting cultures, businesses, and people. He reiterated that India has always been a priority market for Centrum Air, and the direct flights would encourage more Indian travellers to experience Uzbekistan’s rich heritage and hospitality.
Adding to this, Abhishek Goyal, Executive Director & CEO of Aeroprime Group, noted that the inaugural service underlined the strength of their partnership with Centrum Air. As the airline’s exclusive GSA in India, Aeroprime is committed to ensuring the success of this route, which they view as a long-term opportunity to deepen bilateral cooperation and connectivity.
The launch of Delhi–Tashkent direct flights is not just an aviation milestone but also a diplomatic and cultural one. By easing travel, the service is expected to boost tourism, expand business ties, and bring the people of India and Uzbekistan closer. Centrum Air’s entry into the Indian skies demonstrates its confidence in the market and its vision of becoming a leading connector across Asia.
