During a high-level review meeting with the DGCA, Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu issued strict instructions to airlines, including Air India and Air India Express, focusing on passenger safety, reasonable airfares, and efficient grievance redressal.
The Minister emphasised that with the upcoming festive season, airlines must ensure airfares remain reasonable and augment flight operations on high-traffic routes for passenger convenience. The DGCA’s Tariff Monitoring Unit will maintain strict vigilance to enforce compliance.
Naidu shared on X that the meeting included detailed discussions on the operational and technical performance of airlines. He also highlighted that passengers can flag high airfares directly through the Ministry’s AirSewa grievance redressal portal.
The directive aims to balance festive travel demand with fair pricing, ensuring a safer and more convenient travel experience for passengers.
