Singapore becomes the top holiday choice for Indians in Asia for cruising: Int2Cruises

Cruising is rapidly becoming the preferred holiday option for Indian travellers, with Asia emerging as the leading region of choice. A recent report by Int2Cruises, Asia’s first cruise-focused online travel platform, revealed that more than 70% of Indian travellers now opt for Asian sailings. Among these, Singapore stands out as the most popular destination across different age groups.

The report shows Singapore’s wide appeal, making it a favourite for multigenerational families. Children (14.33%), young adults (23%), and middle-aged travellers (35.26%) all prefer this destination, making it ideal for family holidays. Meanwhile, Hong Kong attracts younger families, while Alaska appeals strongly to seniors (64.16% of travellers aged 44–69). Australia and New Zealand are popular among travellers aged 70+, while the Bahamas, Caribbean, and Europe are chosen more often by younger and middle-aged groups.

Another highlight of the report is booking behaviour. While 82% of Indians decide their cruise destinations in advance, nearly 69% of bookings are made within 90 days of sailing. This trend shows a stronger preference for short booking windows compared to global travellers. For Asia sailings, this last-minute booking pattern rises further to 80%.

Akansha Agarwal, Co-Founder and CMO, Int2Cruises, explained the changing habits of Indian travellers. She said a new generation of cruisers is emerging — more curious, value-conscious, and digitally confident. They no longer see cruises as luxury or once-in-a-lifetime holidays but as repeatable, accessible, and enjoyable travel experiences.

She also noted that Int2Cruises was designed to bring simplicity, transparency, and wide choice into cruise planning. By doing so, the platform is helping Indian travellers explore cruises with more confidence and convenience. This shift highlights how digital platforms are reshaping the cruise travel landscape in India.

Overall, the findings point to cruising becoming a mainstream holiday option for Indian travellers. With Asia leading, particularly Singapore, and Indians embracing last-minute booking patterns, the future of cruising in India looks promising. It reflects changing preferences where families, seniors, and younger groups all find cruise holidays appealing.
