Star Air has inaugurated its new non-stop service between Mumbai and Indore, marking a significant step in strengthening regional connectivity between India’s financial capital and the “Cleanest City in India.” The route commenced operations on February 2, 2026, and is a key part of the airline’s ambitious February expansion plan, which includes the launch of 50 new domestic routes.
The Mumbai–Indore sector is an important corridor for business travelers, traders, and leisure passengers. By entering this market, Star Air is positioning itself as a boutique alternative to established carriers, focusing on service quality, punctuality, and a differentiated regional flying experience rather than sheer frequency.
The route is operated using the Embraer E175 jet, reflecting Star Air’s emphasis on comfort and efficiency. Flights operate three times a week—on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays—with an evening departure from Mumbai at 16:35 and arrival in Indore at 17:50, offering a convenient 1 hour and 15-minute journey.
A major highlight of the service is the aircraft’s dual-class configuration. Star Air offers both Business and Economy Class, with a no–middle-seat layout across the cabin. This feature enhances passenger comfort and sets the airline apart in the regional aviation segment, particularly for business travelers seeking a premium short-haul experience.
The Embraer E175 also provides a quieter cabin, larger windows, higher ceilings, and improved overhead bin space compared to smaller regional aircraft. These features deliver a more refined, jet-like experience, bringing elements of long-haul comfort to a short domestic flight.
The Mumbai–Indore launch is part of Star Air’s broader growth strategy following its INR 350 crore Series B funding round in late 2025. Through its “February 50” expansion campaign, the airline aims to significantly expand its domestic footprint, strengthen hub connectivity, and play a larger role in India’s evolving regional aviation landscape.
