The signing ceremony took place at Air Algérie’s headquarters in Algiers, attended by Turkish Airlines CEO Bilal Ekşi and Air Algérie CEO Hamza Benhamouda, along with senior executives from both airlines. This agreement underscores the two carriers’ commitment to fostering deeper strategic cooperation and broadening connectivity between Türkiye and Algeria.

The newly signed MoU provides a framework for enriched partnership that extends beyond passenger services. The two airlines will explore collaborations in cargo interline services, aircraft leasing, catering, lounge access, maintenance, and ground handling operations. By sharing resources and expertise, Turkish Airlines and Air Algérie aim to create a more seamless travel and service experience for passengers, while also achieving greater operational efficiency and competitiveness on key routes.

A key highlight of the agreement is the focus on sustainability and innovation. Both airlines have agreed to jointly develop environmental projects and training programs, ensuring that their cooperation aligns with global sustainability goals. This initiative reflects the aviation industry’s growing emphasis on reducing environmental impact and investing in green technologies, while also building skilled human capital to support future growth.

Commenting on the occasion, Bilal Ekşi, CEO of Turkish Airlines, said, “Our continuing partnership with Air Algérie reflects our commitment to long-term, sustainable collaboration. This agreement marks a key step in deepening ties between both airlines. As the airline flying to more countries than any other, we remain dedicated to expanding cooperation across multiple areas to deliver greater value and convenience to our passengers.” He emphasised that this collaboration would strengthen economic and cultural ties between the two nations.

Echoing this sentiment, Hamza Benhamouda, CEO of Air Algérie, expressed “We are honored to welcome the Turkish Airlines delegation to Algiers and further reinforce the partnership between our airlines and countries. This comprehensive agreement, which covers diverse areas of cooperation and expertise exchange, will undoubtedly bring mutual benefits. Together, we are paving the way for a stronger, more connected aviation network across the Mediterranean.”

Through this strengthened alliance, Turkish Airlines and Air Algérie are poised to deliver greater connectivity, operational synergy, and shared innovation, benefiting not only their respective customers but also contributing to regional economic and cultural exchange. This strategic collaboration marks a significant step forward in promoting sustainable aviation and deeper cooperation between Türkiye and Algeria.
