The government has appointed Vir Vikram Yadav as Director General of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, replacing Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, as part of a broader reshuffle cleared by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet. Yadav, a 1996-batch IAS officer of the Odisha cadre, was serving as additional secretary in the environment ministry.
The reshuffle also saw Puneet Kansal appointed additional secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation, while Kidwai moves to the Department of Personnel and Training.
