Mahindra Holidays Expands Resorts With Estate Acquisition

Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Ltd has announced the acquisition of 100% stake in Aditatva Estates Pvt Ltd for INR 37.5 crore. The deal, approved by the company’s board, marks a strategic step toward expanding its leisure resort portfolio in India.

Aditatva Estates operates a coffee plantation spread across 50 acres in Chikmagalur, a region well known for its scenic landscapes and plantation tourism potential. This makes the acquisition particularly valuable for developing premium resort experiences in a nature-rich setting.

The transaction has been formalised through a share purchase agreement, and the company expects to complete the acquisition by July 31, 2026. Once finalised, Aditatva will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Ltd.

With this move, the company will gain ownership of all assets associated with the estate, including the land parcel. The property is expected to be developed into a leisure destination, aligning with the company’s long-term growth strategy in experiential hospitality.

This acquisition reflects a broader trend in the hospitality sector, where companies are investing in unique, offbeat locations to cater to evolving traveller preferences for nature-based and immersive stays. Plantation resorts, in particular, are gaining popularity among urban travellers seeking relaxation and eco-tourism experiences.

By expanding into Chikmagalur, Mahindra Holidays aims to strengthen its presence in southern India while offering differentiated holiday experiences. The development is likely to enhance its portfolio and attract both domestic and international tourists looking for curated leisure stays.
