In a major push to transform Goa into a high-value corporate hub, the state government has announced the setting up of a dedicated MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) Promotion Bureau within the next month. Rohan Khaunte, Tourism Minister, Goa, said that the bureau will introduce a strict “single-window clearance” system to eliminate bureaucratic red tape for event planners. Spurred by a national call to host mega-weddings and corporate events domestically, the initiative aims to shift Goa away from mass-market tourism. “The single window will allow us to aggressively market global meetings and destination weddings while directly boosting local industry revenues,” Khaunte noted.
