DigiYatra mandatory for international travellers at Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad airports

DigiYatra’s facial recognition-based biometric transit facility has become mandatory for international travellers at Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad airports. The system enables paperless, contactless passenger processing through biometric e-gates, reducing repeated document checks and streamlining airport movement while maintaining security protocols.

Passengers can authenticate their identity through the DigiYatra app using a selfie, Aadhaar verification, and boarding pass details. At the four airports, facial recognition-enabled e-gates match live images with encrypted biometric records, allowing seamless access through checkpoints. Supported by airlines including Air India and IndiGo, the platform has already facilitated over 10 crore journeys across India and is planned for expansion to 27 additional airports in the coming years.
