Skål India Congress in Coimbatore spotlights growth beyond major cities


The Skål International India National Congress 2026 opened in Coimbatore, inaugurated by the Tourism Minister of Tamil Nadu. The event brought together a total of 425 delegates from across the country. Addressing the event, Sanjeev Mehra, President, Skål International India, said the congress underlines the growing importance of tier II and III cities in India’s tourism economy. “More than 60% of business now coming into India is growing in tier II and III cities,” Mehra said, stressing the need to take industry events beyond traditional destinations. He highlighted Coimbatore’s young workforce, energy, and sustainability, adding that the congress aims to strengthen business opportunities among Skål colleagues.
