Speaking at the 9th TravTalk ThinkTank, Preeti Makhija, General Manager, The Leela Palace Chanakyapuri, said, India needs stronger destination marketing to fully realise its tourism potential. She added that hotels were actively promoting their properties, but India needed a stronger national effort to market itself to travellers. “I think India as a destination needs to be promoted and marketed well to travellers, which is not the case. We are still lagging in marketing India as a destination,” she said. “As hotels, we have been doing a lot, but as a nation, there is a lot of things that we could do better to be able to promote India,” she added.
