Speaking at the 9th TravTalk ThinkTank, Meena Bhatia, Vice President & General Manager, Le Méridien New Delhi, said that artificial intelligence will transform hospitality, but hotels must ensure technology does not dilute the human essence of the business. “Technology is for betterment. Technology has to be used. It is no other way. Yes, AI is here to stay and is the next transformation,” she said.
Bhatia said hotels must continue adapting to technological change while protecting the fundamentals of hospitality. “The one thing that should not change is the essence of hospitality.” She added that technology should simplify work and support communication rather than replace human interaction. “Technology will only be as good as…how you want to use it.”
