Gregg Wafelbakker, Regional Director for Asia at Tourism New Zealand, says, “India is the fifth-largest source market for visitor arrivals to New Zealand, accounting for 2.3% of total arrivals. India was the first market to have fully recovered to 2019 levels, reaching 124.6% of its 2019 arrivals. VFR remains the largest segment, accounting for 49% of Indian arrivals, while 32% travel for holidays. We are also seeing strong growth in Visitor Visa applications, with year-on-year growth of 16% in October, 26% in November and 12% in December. This provides a positive indicator for future arrivals.”
