Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is aligning its India expansion with new airports, airline capacity and highway corridors, as Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru anchor bleisure demand while Goa, Jaipur and Kochi emerge as leisure extensions, Rahool Macarius, Market Managing Director–Eurasia, told TravTalk.
Wyndham is recalibrating its India expansion strategy around connectivity-led demand, with airport development, new airline routes, capacity additions and highway growth emerging as key indicators for future hotel locations.
They are targeting around 200 hotels in India by 2028, with airport connectivity, emerging travel corridors and the country’s growing international events calendar shaping its expansion strategy, said Rahool Macarius, Market Managing Director – Eurasia, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
Macarius said the group is tracking new and expanded airports, airline routes, capacity additions and highway growth to identify markets with rising demand. While Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru remain key business and MICE hubs, Wyndham sees growing potential in Tier II and III cities as international events drive travel beyond traditional metros.
