Megamax Aviation’s Air Ayodhya has received a No Objection Certificate from the Ministry of Civil Aviation to operate under UDAN, with DGCA’s Air Operator Certificate process next. The airline plans to connect Uttar Pradesh’s Tier-2 and Tier-3 towns, pilgrimage centres and tourism destinations with each other and major hubs. Its first Cessna Grand Caravan EX is scheduled for delivery in December 2026, with 19-seater aircraft and larger turboprops planned as demand develops. The move comes as UDAN had 677 routes, 95 airports, heliports and water aerodromes, and 168 lakh passengers as of 30 June 2026, according to MoCA. Uttar Pradesh currently has 16 airports/airstrips, while five RCS Phase 1 and 2 airports are operational, according to the state government.
