Kerala has launched SHOLA workation facilities at Gavi and Suryanelli, marking the first government-sector workation rollout in the state. The Kerala Forest Development Corporation (KFDC) also began a premium pod-stay project at Vagamon, with four pods targeted for completion by December. Alongside the new inventory, KFDC launched Aathma, a branded tea and coffee range, while sandalwood products will be marketed under Kalabham. Kerala recorded 25.88 million tourist visits in 2025, including 25.06 million domestic and 821,999 foreign visits, according to Kerala Tourism data. Idukki, home to Suryanelli and Vagamon, recorded 4.68 million tourist visits, the highest among districts. The developments were announced by Kerala’s Information and Public Relations Department, as the state expands its forest-based tourism offering.
