Swirl Transit Hotel opens at Navi Mumbai Airport

Swirl Transit Hotel has opened at Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), offering short and overnight accommodation for passengers with long layovers, early departures and late arrivals. The property is located on the arrivals level of Terminal 1 and is the first hotel built to serve passengers at the airport.

Spread across two floors, the hotel provides accommodation along with shower facilities, dining and other hospitality services within the airport terminal. Room rates start at approximately INR 8,500, according to hotel booking platforms, with the property offering six room categories ranging from 130 sq ft to 410 sq ft.

The hotel’s transit-focused format is designed to provide passengers with greater flexibility between flights. Travellers can use the facility for a few hours or stay overnight, making it suitable for passengers with extended waiting periods as well as those arriving late or departing early.

A similar transit hotel is planned at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati. The proposed 21-room property will be located on Level 3 of the arrivals area within the airport-secured zone of Terminal 2 and will offer hourly and overnight stays, alongside dining and hospitality services.

Suchit Bansal, Chief Executive Officer, Non-Aero Business, Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), said Swirl Transit Hotel brings accommodation into the airport environment, allowing travellers to rest, work or refresh between flights. He added that the company sees potential to introduce the concept at other airports across its network.

The launch forms part of AAHL’s wider focus on expanding non-aeronautical services across its airport portfolio. NMIA began commercial operations on December 25, 2025 and commenced international operations on July 29, 2026, with its first international service to Abu Dhabi. The airport is being developed to ultimately handle up to 90 million passengers annually, with an initial capacity of 20 million.
