Continuing its strong growth trajectory, Air India Express has announced the addition of the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) to its expanding route network. Starting 25 December 2025, the opening day of commercial operations at NMIA, the airline will begin daily flights to Bengaluru and five weekly flights to Delhi. From 1 January 2026, frequencies on both routes will increase to twice daily, supporting the expanding connectivity needs of passengers across Western India. Bookings are now open on the airline’s website, mobile app, and major travel platforms.
The initial schedule includes daily services between Navi Mumbai and Bengaluru, complemented by five weekly flights to Delhi, ensuring seamless travel options across two of the largest domestic hubs. From January onwards, the airline will scale up operations with additional daily flights on both routes, offering greater convenience and connection opportunities. The scheduling is designed to provide smooth onward links through both Air India Express (AIX) and Air India (AI) networks.
Aloke Singh, Managing Director of Air India Express, highlighted the significance of operating from NMIA on its very first day. He stated that the new airport unlocks much-needed capacity for Mumbai’s expanding catchment area while supporting rapid aviation growth. He added that the airline is committed to offering direct connectivity to major metros, with plans to further enhance its presence at Navi Mumbai in a phased manner as operations scale up over time.
Air India Express continues to strengthen its footprint in Maharashtra with a growing network across key cities. The airline currently operates more than 130 weekly flights from Mumbai and over 90 from Pune. Additionally, from 1 December 2025, it will launch services from Nagpur with twice-daily flights to Bengaluru, reinforcing its commitment to increasing accessibility across the state’s major economic centers.
The expansion at Navi Mumbai also complements the airline’s rapidly growing operations from Bengaluru, one of its primary hubs. The carrier has recently added new routes to Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Jodhpur, and Udaipur, now operating more than 530 weekly flights from the city. It has also commenced international services from Bengaluru to Bangkok, Jeddah, Kuwait, and Riyadh, enhancing global travel options for passengers.
Air India Express has recently unveiled its new brand campaign, Xplore More, Xpress More, which encourages travelers to discover local culture and unique experiences. The airline also showcased its upgraded cabin experience on the Boeing 737-8 aircraft, featuring improved seating, USB charging, refreshed interiors, modern lighting, and hot meal service capabilities. Through its Tales of India initiative, the airline continues celebrating diverse Indian stories while offering a warm and comfortable flying experience across its expanding network.
