Air India Express has launched 40 weekly flights from Hindon Airport, directly connecting Bengaluru, Chennai, Goa, Jammu, and Kolkata. The move, inaugurated by Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu, aims to enhance connectivity in the National Capital Region (NCR), benefiting North and East Delhi along with Western Uttar Pradesh.
With this expansion, Air India Express becomes the first airline to operate from both Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) and Hindon Airport (HDO). This dual-hub strategy will serve key areas like Ghaziabad, Meerut, Noida, and Delhi localities such as Akshardham, Karol Bagh, and Anand Vihar.
The airline’s expansion aligns with the government’s vision of developing multiple airports for metropolitan cities, similar to London and New York. Aloke Singh, MD of Air India Express, emphasised that as the fleet surpasses 100 aircraft, the airline remains committed to affordable, seamless travel across India, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
This strategic move will provide faster and more accessible air travel options for passengers travelling to and from NCR, strengthening Air India Express’s domestic network.
