Akasa Air, India’s fastest-growing airline, announced a significant scale-up of its network with new connections and increased frequencies across key routes underscoring Akasa Air’s continued focus on building a robust network and offering travellers greater convenience, connectivity, and choice.
Anand Srinivasan, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Akasa Air, said “When we launched Akasa Air four years ago, we saw a compelling opportunity to build a meaningful airline in one of the world’s fastest-growing aviation markets. The scale and depth of our network today reflect the deliberate choices we have made by building greater frequency in markets where demand is deepening, strengthening links between major economic centres and emerging destinations, and progressively expanding our international footprint.
Our approach goes beyond adding capacity; it is about making travel more relevant and rewarding through better schedules, greater choice, and a flying experience that is warm, dependable and distinctly Akasa. As we scale, we remain focused on combining disciplined growth with service excellence, while building an experience-led carrier that plays an integral role in India’s aviation growth story.”
Key highlights reflect Akasa Air’s growing network depth and connectivity across India and beyond:
North India: Deepening connectivity from the national capital and expanding into new markets
Akasa Air continues to deepen its presence in Delhi. With 196 weekly departures, offering non-stop connectivity to 14 cities. With the expansion, Akasa Air now operates 1X daily flights on the Delhi–Visakhapatnam route, while adding 2X daily flights to Mumbai and 1X daily flight each to Bengaluru and Goa. The enhanced schedule strengthens Delhi’s connectivity with key metro and non-metro markets while providing travellers with greater choice throughout the day.
The airline also commenced operations from Jaipur and Udaipur, connecting both cities to Bengaluru and Mumbai through daily direct flights, while further strengthening its presence in North India with daily direct flights from Chandigarh to Bengaluru and Goa.
South India: Scaling operations across key markets
Akasa Air significantly expanded its presence across South India, led by expansion in Bengaluru, Kochi and Kozhikode. Departures from Bengaluru increased significantly with the airline offering non-stop connectivity to 19 domestic destinations and three international destinations – Abu Dhabi, Phuket and Jeddah. Additional frequencies across key metro and non-metro routes further strengthen Bengaluru’s position as a pivotal node in Akasa Air’s network.
The airline also substantially scaled its operations in Kerala with departures from Kozhikode, driven by domestic and international expansion. The additional capacity strengthens Akasa Air’s footprint across South India while creating greater domestic and international connectivity from the region.
East India: Boosting presence in Kolkata
Akasa Air significantly scaled operations from Kolkata, with an increase to 95 weekly departures. The airline offers non-stop connectivity to eight destinations while establishing a crew base in Kolkata, supporting the growing scale of its operations from the city. The expansion further strengthens Kolkata’s role as an important market for Akasa Air and provides a strong foundation for continued growth across Eastern India.
Strengthening connectivity across key metro corridors
Akasa Air continues to increase frequency across some of the country’s highest-demand metro routes. The airline operates Mumbai–Delhi 6X daily, complemented by Navi Mumbai–Delhi 1X daily, providing travellers with multiple departures across the day. Bengaluru–Delhi operates 5X daily, while Delhi–Kolkata service operates 2X daily, with morning and evening options. The increased frequencies provide greater flexibility and convenience for both business and leisure travellers.
