Akasa Air to launch flights from Noida International Airport

Akasa Air To Launch Flights From Noida International Airport

Akasa Air has announced that it will start operations from Noida International Airport beginning June 16, expanding services from the National Capital Region.

The airline will operate daily direct flights connecting the new airport with Bengaluru and Navi Mumbai, two major business and economic centres in India.

The services will commence a day after commercial operations officially begin at Noida International Airport. The airport is being positioned as a major new aviation hub for northern India and an alternative gateway for the NCR region.

According to Akasa Air, the new routes are aimed at improving connectivity between the NCR and fast-growing technology and financial hubs while also helping reduce congestion at Indira Gandhi International Airport.

The announcement follows earlier expansion plans by IndiGo, making Akasa Air one of the first carriers to confirm scheduled services from the new airport.

Currently, Akasa Air operates around 188 weekly flights across the broader NCR market. The addition of services from Jewar is expected to further strengthen the airline’s network presence in North India.

Industry experts view the launch as an important milestone for the development of India’s multi-airport systems around major metropolitan regions, similar to aviation models seen in cities such as Mumbai and London.

The opening of Noida International Airport is expected to improve regional connectivity, support economic development and increase passenger handling capacity in one of the world’s fastest-growing aviation markets.
