India’s hospitality sector is outperforming the broader Asia-Pacific region, underscoring the strength of travel demand, according to Olivier Ponti, Director, Market Intelligence & Insights, Hospitality, Amadeus. “Over the past 12 months, occupancy in India was around 76 per cent compared with 63 per cent across Asia. The gap is significant and reflects the resilience of the Indian market,” Ponti said. He noted that while geopolitical tensions have temporarily affected booking patterns, travel demand remains strong and rebounded quickly after disruptions. “The eagerness to travel is still there. Travellers are adapting their plans rather than cancelling them altogether,” he added.
