Travel remained a major spending category across Asia Pacific in 2025, reaching nearly US$180 billion and accounting for over 17% of total card usage, as per Visa Business and Economic Insights. Demand stayed resilient, but travel patterns evolved amid rising fuel costs and airspace disruptions, accelerating a shift towards shorter-haul, intra-regional trips. Travellers are also becoming more selective, focusing on flexible, transparent, and experience-led journeys rather than cancelling travel plans altogether.
