Bahrain Tourism & Exhibitions Authority appoints Intrepid Marketing as India representative

The Bahrain Tourism & Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) has appointed Intrepid Marketing & Communications as its official India Sales and Representative Agency to lead its market development, trade engagement and strategic partnerships across the country. Under this mandate, Intrepid Marketing will spearhead BTEA’s trade representation in India, drive market outreach and strategic partnerships, and work to increase visitor arrivals from India to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The collaboration aims to further position Bahrain as a compelling destination for Indian travellers, with a particular focus on leisure tourism, the rapidly growing MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) segment, destination weddings and bespoke group travel. India continues to be a strategically important source market for Bahrain, driven by rising outbound travel, improving air connectivity and growing demand for experiential, premium and short-haul international holidays. Through the partnership, Intrepid Marketing & Communications will work closely with travel trade partners, the corporate sector, wedding planners, event organisers and other key stakeholders to boost awareness, build meaningful partnerships and drive visitor arrivals from India.

Commenting on the appointment, Dana Osama AlSaad, Deputy CEO for Projects and Resources at the Bahrain Tourism & Exhibitions Authority, said India remains one of Bahrain’s most high-potential source markets, adding that Intrepid Marketing & Communications’ strong understanding of the evolving Indian travel landscape, extensive industry relationships and proven destination marketing expertise make it an ideal partner as Bahrain continues to expand its presence in the market. She noted that the partnership would help reinforce Bahrain’s appeal among Indian leisure travellers, event organisers, wedding planners and corporate groups.

Sunil Mathapati, Director of Intrepid Marketing & Communications, said the agency was pleased to return as BTEA’s representative after having worked with the authority for over six years, describing the relationship as one built on shared values, mutual trust and a common vision for tourism growth. He added that the renewed partnership offers an opportunity to deepen engagement with the travel trade and unlock new opportunities across leisure tourism, MICE and the destination wedding segment, while working to reset benchmarks for Indian visitor arrivals to Bahrain.

Known for its rich heritage, vibrant culinary scene, luxury hospitality and state-of-the-art event infrastructure, Bahrain is positioning itself as a must-visit destination for Indian experiential travellers seeking authentic cultural experiences, premium short-haul holidays, incentive travel, international conferences and destination weddings.
