CheQ AU credit card redefines rewards

CheQ has partnered with AU Small Finance Bank to launch the CheQ AU Credit Card, marking its entry into the credit card issuance space. The move expands CheQ’s role from a bill payment platform to a full-fledged credit and rewards ecosystem.

The card introduces a unique LED-powered tap feature, making it India’s first credit card to visually light up during contactless payments. This battery-free innovation enhances user experience by giving instant confirmation at checkout, reflecting a shift toward more intuitive and engaging payment methods.

Built on insights from over 15 million cards and 4 million users, the product aims to fix common issues like fragmented rewards and complicated redemption systems. All rewards are unified into “CheQ Points,” which can be easily tracked and redeemed within the CheQ app.

The rewards structure is aggressive and designed for modern spending habits. Users can earn up to 12% rewards on platforms like Amazon, Flipkart, and Zomato, along with travel and bill payments. Everyday spends fetch 5%, UPI spends via RuPay offer 2.5%, and all other transactions earn 1%.

A key highlight is integration with CheQ Travel, allowing users to redeem points for flights, hotels, and gift cards across multiple brands. The card also combines both Visa and RuPay networks, enabling global usage alongside UPI-based payments in India.

Priced at INR 499 annually (waived on INR 3 lakh annual spend), the card targets digitally savvy users seeking simplicity, value, and flexibility. With applications opening on April 28, 2026, the launch signals a strong push toward redefining credit card experiences in India.
