Delhi Airport eyes 50% passenger growth in 10 years as Delhi-NCR demand could reach 114–120mn annually: Pradeep Panicker

Delhi International Airport could handle 50% more passengers in the next 10 years as air travel demand across Delhi-NCR expands, said Pradeep Panicker, CEO, Delhi International Airport. “If we look at the picture 10 years from now, we could be at around 80 million passengers. Based on the growth rate, Delhi-NCR’s annual demand could reach 114–120 million passengers. In 10 years’ time, we could therefore be looking at an airport handling 50% more passengers than today. It will be much busier, with far more intense operations,” he said. Panicker added that the airport set up a dedicated passenger experience department two years ago to assess the journey from the passenger’s perspective.
