Domestic air travel grows strongly worldwide while India sees slight dip in March demand: IATA


Domestic aviation demand globally grew 6.5 per cent year-on-year in March 2026, led by markets like China and Brazil, according to International Air Transport Association (IATA). However, India recorded a marginal 1% decline, possibly due to reduced connectivity to Middle East hubs. Despite this, global passenger load factors improved, reflecting stable demand conditions, while airlines continue navigating operational challenges linked to fuel prices and airspace disruptions.
