Domestic travel demand set to surge amid global uncertainty: Romil Pant

Domestic travel is expected to see strong growth as travellers prefer closer-to-home destinations amid global uncertainty, said Romil Pant, Executive Vice President & Business Head – Holidays, Thomas Cook. He noted that demand remains robust, with domestic and outbound travel increasingly moving in parallel.

Pant added that domestic and outbound travel are no longer substitutes but are evolving in parallel, reflecting changing consumer behaviour. The trend is expected to accelerate during peak travel periods, with strong demand across leisure and pilgrimage segments, positioning domestic tourism as a key growth driver for India’s travel industry.
